چکیده

The current applications of geographic information systems (GIS) applications to non-point-source pollution modeling for agricultural area are reviewed with respect to the requirements for GIS, the hydrological/water quality modeling processes, and integration between GIS and Non-Point-Source Pollution (NPSP) models. Some necessary considerations for future studies are also discussed by summarizing the viewpoints of various researchers.

مدل سازی آلودگی غیرنقطه ای با استفاده از سیستم اطلاعات جغرافیایی (GIS) برای ارائه بهترین شیوه های مدیریت (BMP) در حوضه آبخیز گرگانرود

The most important pollutants that cause water pollution are nitrogen and phosphorus from agricultural runoff called Non-Point Source Pollution (NPS). To solve this problem, management practices known as BMPs or Best Management Practices are applied. One of the common methods for Non-Point Source Pollution prediction is modeling. By modeling, efficiency of many practices can be tested before ap...

An Integrated GIS-AnnAGNPS Modeling Interface for Non-Point Source Pollution Assessment

AnnAGNPS (Annualized AGricultural Non-point Source), a continuous simulation and distributed pollution model, is widely applied in evaluating non-point source pollution and watershed management practices. However, the complexity of required input data and modeling procedure keep it from being an efficient modeling tool. An integrated GIS interface was developed to facilitate organizing and prep...

GIS Applications of Deterministic Solute Transport Models for Regional-Scale Assessment of Non-Point Source Pollutants in the Vadose Zone

In recent years, worldwide attention has shifted from point source to non-point source (NPS) pollutants, particularly with regard to the pollution of surface and subsurface sources of drinking water. This is due to the widespread occurrence and potential chronic health effects of NPS pollutants. The ubiquitous nature of NPS pollutants poses a complex technical problem. The area1 extent of their...
